Estudia 12 panes con salchicha, obtenidos en el campus central de la USAC, registra su peso, y determina el contenido de nutrientes y minerales. También registra la información de etiqueta nutricional de las bebidas con que se consume el pan con salchicha. Los resultados indican que una unidad de pan con salchicha pesa 185 g, tiene 276 Kcal, 11g de proteína, 30g de carbohidratos, 11g de grasa y 1142 mg de sodio, entre otros nutrientes. La bebida acompañante aporta entre 167 y 260 kcal, de 42-68g de carbohidratos y de 18 a 105 mg de sodio, lo cual representa el 15% de la recomendación dietética diaria de grasa, mas de 20% de lo recomendado para energía y más del 50% de lo recomendado para sodio. El alto contenido de energía, carbohidratos y sodio de este tipo de alimento es característico de la "comida rápida", que constituye un factor de riesgo de padecer enfermedades crónicas. --
ABSTRACT: Twelve hot dogs obtained from the central campus of San Carlos University of Guatemala were studied. the weight was registered and the content of macronutrients and minerals were determined. It was also registered nutritional facts from the beverages that are consumed with the hot dogs. The results indicated that a hot dog weights 185g and it has 276Kcal, 1g of protein, 30g of carbohydrates, 11g of fat, 1142 mg of sodium, among other nutrients. The beverages provides between 167-260 Kcal, 42-68g of carbohydrates, 18-105g of sodium which represents the 15% of the recommended fat, more than the 20% of the recommended energy and more than the 50% of the recommended sodium. The high percentages of energy, carbohydrates and sodium included i this food are characteristic of fast food, which is a risky factor of chronic disease. --
